PRIORITIES
Gina is running for State Senate because too many Missouri families are being left behind by politicians who put politics ahead of people. She knows what it’s like to struggle and has spent her career fighting for affordable healthcare and reproductive rights, strong public schools, and real support for working families.
HEALTHCARE & REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
Gina believes access to affordable, quality healthcare—including reproductive care—is a basic human right. In the House, she served on bipartisan Interim and Special Committees focused on Medicaid expansion, traveling the state to gather input and craft policy. She fought to increase access to mental health providers and treatment for substance use disorders. She stood up against all efforts to slash healthcare funding that would shut down local hospitals.
As a lifelong champion of reproductive freedom, Gina has always voted to protect abortion rights and for patients' access to accurate and unbiased medical information. As your State Senator, she will keep fighting to lower healthcare costs, expand coverage, and keep politicians out of our personal medical decisions.
PUBLIC SAFETY
As a candidate for State Representative, Gina earned endorsements from police and firefighters. In the House, she opposed reckless gun laws and fought to close dangerous loopholes that put victims of domestic violence at risk. She also supported deepening trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
As your State Senator, she will work to fund first responders, foster meaningful partnerships between communities and police, and push for smart, commonsense gun safety, such as universal background checks and red flag laws, to keep all Missourians safe.
PUBLIC EDUCATION
As a mom and proud community and public college graduate, Gina has always fought for quality public education at every level. In the House in her own community, she worked to fully fund schools, reduce class sizes, raise teacher pay, and invest in pre-K and student transportation.
Gina supports dual enrollment, AP courses, and vocational training that expand opportunities for our young adults. She also advocates for affordable higher education through Missouri’s public colleges.
Outside the Capitol, she’s coached her local high school’s Mock Trial team since 2019, leading them to a state championship in 2025. As your State Senator, Gina will continue to fight for accessible, high-quality education for every Missouri student.
WORKERS’ RIGHTS
Gina understands the struggles working families face—because she’s lived them. As a single mom, she experienced the stress of low wages, unexpected bills, and the fear of making ends meet when staying home with a sick child. In the House, she championed paid sick leave, fair wages, and strong unemployment and workers' compensation protections, earning the endorsement of local and statewide labor unions in each of her elections.
In 2025, she was outraged when Republicans in Jefferson City repealed paid sick time that voters had overwhelmingly approved in 20 of 34 Senate districts. As your State Senator, Gina will always stand with workers, defend their rights, lobby for fair benefits, and fight to remove lawmakers' ability to overturn the will of the people.
